Tor Browser Bundle, Mac OSX and 10.5.8
We're aware that the Tor Browser version 2.2.35-8 doesn't work on OS X 10.5.8. Ticket 4263 is open to track the issue. We just purchased a Mac Mini as the new build machine. It is in process of being setup and configured for builds. We should have more progress on solving the issue in the next week or so. Thanks for your patience.

I am not a part of your community, but I have tried TOR and am glad you do what you do. I have been able to get TOR to work with OS X 10.5.8. simply by turning off "browser.sessionstore.resumefromcrash" in about:config. Thanks

I'm using OSX 10.6.6., and I seem to have a serious problem. Well, if not serious, it's hella annoying to say the least.
Vidalia says that I'm running the 0.2.15 version, and it also says Tor 0.2.2.35 so everything should be up to date. However, although Aurora seems to run smoothly most of the time there is a serious crash risk. It does this every single time I click on any object (selected text, a tab, a link, whatever) and move the cursor (this means no more drag & drop, for example). After this, I have to stop Tor from the Vidalia control panel and hope it will start nice and smooth. If Tor doesn't start properly, all that is left is to reboot. After the crash, your normal error announcement appears, but if you click on "Restart Aurora", first I get a message saying "Aurora is not your default browser, would you like to change your settings?", and the browser window flashes on the screen for a second, disappears and _then_ I have to stop Tor and restart it. The interrupted Aurora stays on except that it doesn't respond, and I have to end the process through force quitting.
Dear people, what to do?
try this workaround 'til
try this workaround 'til they can fix it:
put a blank piece of Mail stationary under and sticking out from beneath Tor ... next Time a Link or text is attached to yr mouse, hang on to it and slide it over to the stationary, THEN let it go ... you can Copy, move it, and Delete it to wherever you want from the stationary ... AND yr browser should stay open, oblivious to what just happened ...
i'm on 10.5.8 use FF11.0 (was expecting Aurora but Tor apparently took what i had), and THIS crazy glitch is the only one i've come across ... thankyou SO MUCH, torproject for yr dedication and for TheNetwork ...

Hi, I am a recent victim of fraud and I was told about TOR. I am currently running Mozilla without browser bundle and connecting it through TOR from FoxyProxy,Is their anyway my privacy can be intruded?
I also had a pop up(i think) saying something about network and I should route my IP or Connection to/through Operations. Is this a worry?
Thanks in advance,love the site.

Is there anyway to resize
Is there anyway to resize the Firefox 11 browser window and keep that setting for the next time it is opened? Right now, the browser opens at a set size which is smaller than what I want, then it sometimes automatically resets itself when using certain onion sites so that it is larger than my monitor, forcing me to resize the window each time I change pages at those sites.
When I use Firefox 11 without TOR, I can set the window size to fit my monitor and it stays that way practically forever, no matter what website I visit or how many times I start and restart Firefox.
Thanks.
I just tried to install tor
I just tried to install tor on both my mac's and had no luck. I am not particularly computer savvy, but it was a little frustrating because when I tried to install it from instructional web install videos, my experience in no way resembled that of the content maker. Are you saying that the current version just does not work with mac and has to be fixed? If so, that would explain my experience. Nothing I did would work.
In FF about:config, please
In FF about:config, please disable the prefetch option, not the network one, but the other one.
This will save the Tor network a lot of wasted bandwidth.

This will also add to client security as many spammers and "front organizations" which post links in forums and blogs like this post only to track users participating in useful discussion.

To the person above
To the person above enquiring about 'prefetch option', I believe there is a Firefox add-on for this. It is called 'Request Policy'. It allows one to choose which site to be prefetched. This add-on is mentioned in the FAQ for Torbutton. I hope this helps.
What I would like to see in TBB is the IP address (in status bar) of the website I am visiting. And if possible to have it in red digits when I am not visiting through Tor. There is a Firefox add-on for this called 'External IP' but I am reluctant to use it because I do not know how safe it is.

Hi there, Tried
Hi there,
Tried «TorBrowser-2.2.35-5-dev-osx-i386-en-US.zip» with OS 10.5.8 (and Firefox 11.0 installed just in case it's relevant) from older versions of Tor taken from this link.
Works just fine so far.
Thanks!

Hello, I noticed that in my
Hello, I noticed that in my pc with Windows7, when I launch the Tor Browser Bundle, automatically starts also the process CONHOST.EXE (visible in the Task Manager).
As far as I know, conhost.exe is related to the command prompt.
Conhost.exe is instead closed when the Tor Browser is closed.
So I'm wondering if it's normal that the process conhost.exe runs when Tor runs, or if it's an abnormalities.
Thanks
Hi there, ******A word to
Hi there,
******A word to the desperate: This problem seems to be easily fixable, just follow the links here and Bob's your uncle.*******
Re: Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard and Tor not working together, I could not get them to work either. Followed the link at top to ticket 4263 and read that discussion as well as the entries here.
The about:config adjustment suggested above didn't help me.
However when I followed the link to the Tor version archives:
https://archive.torproject.org/tor-package-archive/torbrowser/osx/
and downloaded and installed version 2.2.35-5 (specifically TorBrowser-2.2.35-5-dev-osx-i386-en-US.zip for my intel-powered white MacBook), it worked like a charm.
So just install this older version for the moment and do not follow Tor's suggestion every time it opens to update it, at least until you check back here and see the problem has been solved.
It looks like there was a problem with one of the builds that they're working on fixing; in the meantime, the solution seems to be to install version 2.2.35-5.
Any updates on this? Thanks
